It all begins with an idea.

In 2014, our Founder Amber (Aye Nicole) Jones had a passion for social media. She started by offering Social Media Management services for student owned businesses on campus. At the time, SMM wasn’t a “real career.” So although she enjoyed the work, she paused her efforts and continued to focus on completing her undergrad degree.

Shortly after graduation, Amber felt unfulfilled with her employment. So she revisited the Social Media Management Idea once more. She tried expressing interest in marketing at her current job but they told her that she would need at least seven years of experience, just to start at the bottom tier of the department. So In 2019, she created her own seat at the table and that seat was called Social Gourmet. To be completely honest, she knew nothing about marketing, graphic design, or even how to run a business. But despite the lack of knowledge, she started to offer her services for free to gain experience.

Fast forward a couple of years later, she managed to serve over 200+ businesses, create jobs for black and brown women, and cultivate creativity thru marketing services.
